The selfless football player
In 2016, Colin Kaepernick made it his personal mission to combat police brutality. No matter the cost to him – financially, socially and emotionally, Kaepernick chose to stand alone for a cause he obviously deeply believes in.
Some have lauded his efforts while some have condemned him. Kaepernick’s choice to kneel and throw his fists in the air during the playing of the National Anthem at NFL games has stirred many emotions.
Despite donating substantial amounts of money to many worthy causes, the free agent remains out of a job.
The NFL has ruled that players are not allowed to kneel or stand aside during the playing of the national anthem at games. They have the option of staying in the locker room during pre-game ceremonies or pay a heavy fine if they violate the new rule.
But racial discrimination is not a problem in America, right?
