6 homegrown African companies making waves globally, thanks to their creative innovations

At the turn of the 21st century, Africa has become home to some of the fastest growing economies birthing several self-made millionaires from Africa in Africa

The new generation has also been bold enough to move away from the conventional white collar jobs and venture into entrepreneurship, developing new ways of making money and attracting investment in their respective countries. As much a the road to the top is bumpy, these young Africans are defying the odds in whatever fields they choose to excel in.

A few weeks ago, Times compiled its  Genius Companies list that featured top innovative and ambitious companies in the world. The list features companies like Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty, Spotify and Nike, but what’s more exciting is the number of African companies that made it.

Not only are these companies by Africans in Africa, but they are also startups already sitting on the same table with global brands that have existed for years.
