Pedro Ivonnet
The Cuban of Haitian descent fought alongside General Antonio Maceo and later helped found the Independent Party of Colour with Evaristo Estenoz and others.
He was killed while attempting to escape in the Massacre of 1912. He was promoted to General before his death.
