Ait Ben Haddou

Protected as a World Heritage Site, Ait Ben Haddou is a giant fortification or a ksar (a group of earthen buildings surrounded by high walls). Dating back to the 11th century, the collection of forts and individual homes sit huddled behind fortified walls on what was once the caravan route connecting Sahara and Marrakech, said travel site, Inspirock. The site is noted for being used as a replacement for Jerusalem in movies. Ait Ben Haddou has so far been the scene of some movies such as Prince of Persia and Gladiator.
