Lake Tengrela

If you’re looking for a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the world’s largest hippos, make sure to visit Lake Tengrela. It is a small lake located near Banfora in Burkina Faso.

Your tour guide will take you on an enthralling cruise around the lake in a wooden canoe to allow you to take some beautiful photos of the breathtaking scenery. Locals in the area believe that the hippos in Lake Tengrela are sacred and do not attack people, but be advised; don’t get too close to the gigantic animals for your own good.
