8 African songs that were banned for various reasons

Music comprises of various arrangements including melody, beats, rhythm, lyrics and chord. The combination of all these elements becomes the final product we all enjoy.

Like everything in the world, there is the good, bad and ugly – so does music. Music is supposed to be an art that ministers to the innermost part of the human soul – a reason premium was placed on it even in heaven.

Negative music can birth violence. Research findings over the years on popular music have revealed the adverse effect it has on mood. Its effect cannot be underestimated with several theories linking music as the solution to loneliness.

In whatever form and manner it comes, negative music shouldn’t be tolerated. However, some songs have been tagged negative and censored for being against a political force or espouse causes that are unpopular.

Below are 8 African songs banned for various reasons.
