Tyler Perry is an actor, writer, producer and director. Following his $250m studio opening in Atlanta, one of the largest in the U.S., he received many praises from a chunk of black Hollywood royalty like Oprah Winfrey, Spike Lee, Sidney Poiter, Halle Berry, Beyoncé and Will Smith.
Best known on the screens as Mabel “Madea” Simmons, Tyler is now opening The Virtual Madea Museum “that will spotlight Madea’s 20-year “wise-cracking” legacy, cultural influence and achievements,” according to BET.
The character Madea has made appearances in nearly half of his movies usually as the crazy aunty who would “not spare the rod and spoil the child.”
Madea plays into the stereotypical angry black woman role in most of the movies or plays but the character has a way of making you fall in love with her.
