During an appearance on The Best People podcast on Monday, former Saturday Night Live cast member Leslie Jones stated that she hoped Democrats would retake Congress after the midterm elections and arrest Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
Though the ICE has been seriously clamping down on illegal immigration under the orders of President Donald Trump, there have been divided opinions about the federal law enforcement agency’s modus operandi.
“I don’t know. It just feels like the upside down world,” Jones, 58, told podcast host Nicolle Wallace, who is also an anchor on MS NOW, Fox News reported.

“You see somebody that’s doing something completely terrible, like some of these influencers, these crazy folks, and we let them go because freedom of speech, of course, but there should be accountability.”
“Like gravity, things should fall,” Wallace also said. Jones then stated that “you can’t continue to keep doing some wrong, you know, and you’re not gonna pay for that.”
When Wallace asked Jones what action was needed to control the current climate, Jones suggested that a “reckoning” could come if the Democrats emerge victorious in the midterms.
“I’m hoping, this is what I’m hoping, that midterms, people come out and vote like crazy to switch it over, and then the reckoning comes,” the Coming 2 America star said. “That’s why I want, all, everybody that work for ICE, I want them in jail. I just want a reckoning. I want a reckoning. Y’all know y’all did wrong stuff. You know some of the stuff you did was so wrong. I need a reckoning. Because that’s, to me, that’s the only thing that’s gonna make it right.”
While some have thrown their weight behind the actions of ICE agents, critics have accused them of racial profiling, excessive use of force, carrying out illegal raids and arrests, among others.
