African socialites who are making huge dollars by just showing up at events

Vera Sidika

Known as “African Kim Kardashian”, the Kenyan socialite gained popularity after she appeared in the music video for the song ‘You Guy’ by Kenyan hip-hop group P-Unit, released in 2012. The model, video vixen and media personality would later get more appearances in 2014 including Prezzo’s single, “My Gal”. In November 2015, she appeared as a video vixen in Nigerian musicians KCEE, Skiibii and Harrysong song titled “Ebaeno”, and has since graced media platforms such as BBC Africa and The New York Post.

For someone who charges about $2000 to $2,500 every hour to just to show up at an occasion, the Kenyan socialite has a net worth of about $2.5 million, including expensive cars and jewellery as well as some businesses in Nigeria. On May 22, 2017, Sidika launched detox tea, Veetox Tea, that helps reduce bloating, cleanse the digestive system, improve metabolism and burns belly fat.

Despite strides made in entrepreneurship, the curvy lady has received a lot of bashing from critics, who condemned her over her decision to lighten her skin in the U.K. in 2014. She has also had to explain comments she made about her not being comfortable wearing undies and her relationship status.
