Alabama Department of Corrections Sgt. Laquentin Brantley has been charged with forcing an inmate to engage in oral sex with him by threatening to keep her from being freed.

With help from the U.S. Marshals Service, prison detectives arrested the 34-year-old corrections supervisor on Thursday, and he has since been charged with first-degree sodomy and custodial sexual contact.

People reports that Brantley, an employee of the Julia Tutwiler Prison for Women, is being held in the Elmore County Jail on a $15,000 bond while awaiting an Aniah’s Law hearing.

According to charging documents obtained by AL.com, a female inmate told investigators that Brantley bullied her into performing oral sex on him by threats of “writing her up” for disciplinaries “any time he felt like it” to keep her from leaving prison and returning home to see her children.

The prisoner claimed that Brantley commanded “Let me see ’em,” when she was wearing a tank top without a bra.

Brantley responded, “Yes, let me see them or you’ll never go home,” after she expressed confusion and inquired if she was referring to her breasts.

The inmate followed the sergeant’s instructions, adding that he also groped her breast and genitals during the October 18 incident at the facility.

According to the detainee, Brantley came back and made her have oral sex with him at around one in the morning the next day.

Officials from ADOC announced that Brantley was put on administrative leave.
