Affectionately called the GOAT of entrepreneurship, Janay White, at age 33, is a mother of two from Jacksonville, Florida, and the founder of eight thriving companies. In addition, she teaches people how to attain financial freedom.
Her companies are J White Enterprises, Luigi’s Concrete and More LLC, J WHITE Construction INC, J WHITE Marketing INC, J White Holdings INC, JW Enterprises Unlimited LLC, J White Auto Sales and J White Tax Corp. White also runs a car rental company and mainly rents out to single mothers.
White started as a social worker and fraud investigator at the Florida Department of Children and Families from 2010-2020. She was also a Revenue Auditor in the accounting and finance department at UPS from 2011-2020.
Her pivot towards assisting people to attain financial independence was born out of her troubles with her finances. She sat in bad credit for seven years after securing a loan of $500 from Vystar Credit Union when she was 18 years.
However, by age 25, she started rebuilding her credit score and taught herself to boost her scores. Having found the magic wand, Janay decided to pass on her skill to others who may be in her previous situation and needed help.
Through seminars, classes and sometimes one-on-one interview sessions, she teaches others how to come out of bad debt. White calls her seminars The Credit Repair University and uses the platform to teach financial independence.
According to Black Business, Janay has “managed to acquire over 26 AirBnBs and has succor all 26 for over a year. She has also purchased a plethora of investment properties using business credit only and coached mentees who serve in real estate with purchasing properties using business credit totaling over $2.5 million.”
Owing to her enterprise, she has received multiple awards and nominations. Her firm was awarded Best Credit Company of the year in 2021 by the Best Boss Awards Group. She was also nominated as Woman of the Year by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and has been selected as the City of Jacksonville’s Entrepreneur of the Year for 2022. White currently serves as a Trustee Member of the Jacksonville Jaguars Leadership Team.
As someone who worked two jobs a day for a living, one of her unbelievable moments was when she walked into a Mercedes dealership to buy a car.
“Walking into a Mercedes dealership and buying a car was something I didn’t think I would ever be able to do when I worked 2 jobs! Entrepreneurship has allowed me to not only do just that but do it TWICE!” White said.
