Beyoncé’s philanthropic foundation, BeyGOOD, has pledged $2.5 million to help victims affected by the devastating wildfires raging across Southern California.
The fires have claimed 24 lives, destroying more than 12,000 structures and burning over 37,830 acres, according to reports.
The 43-year-old Grammy-winning artist announced the donation through BeyGOOD’s Instagram page and it was centered on supporting victims amid the difficult situation.

“Los Angeles, we stand with you,” the post read. “BeyGOOD is taking action by announcing the LA Fire Relief Fund with a donation of $2.5 million.”
The foundation also urged others to support displaced families and learn more about its mission at BeyGOOD.org.
BeyGOOD was founded in 2013 and focuses on economic equity by supporting marginalized communities through scholarships, internships, and resources for entrepreneurship.
Over the years, Beyoncé has frequently used the nonprofit to respond to crises. She made a $6 million donation in 2020 for mental health resources during the COVID-19 pandemic and also assisted individuals facing eviction with $500,000.
Earlier in 2024, she pledged another $500,000 to cosmetology schools and salons. However, some fans on social media have made ‘disappointing’ comments about the music star, as they believe she could have donated more.
Others have disagreed with that idea and hit back to those aiming at Beyoncé’s efforts on social media amid the wildfires.
“‘She’s worth billions and all she gave was $2.5 million?????’ – a person who didn’t donate anything”, one user wrote on X.
“Hate when people feel rich people are obligated to do anything as if 2.5m isn’t a lot of money”, another said.
BeyGOOD’s latest efforts will include providing essential supplies and collaborating with animal shelters to care for displaced pets.
Many other celebrities have also stepped up to assist fire victims.
Paris Hilton, who lost her Malibu home to the Palisades Fire, launched an emergency fund through her nonprofit, 11:11 Media Impact, and personally donated $100,000 and pledged to match an additional $100,000 in contributions, according to reports.
“My heart is with everyone impacted by the devastating fires here in LA,” Hilton wrote. “As a mom, I can’t imagine the pain and fear of not having a safe place for your babies.”
Beyoncé’s efforts come at a truly devastating time for those affected by the fires, but her support is sure to prove crucial as authorities aim to get the situation under control.
