A newly-wed bride who lost her husband on the night of their wedding has revealed he was shot 15 times at the event after the ceremony, leading to his immediate death.

Last October, 37-year-old Tyrek Burton married his long-term 33-year-old partner Kiara in Greensboro, North Carolina, only to lose him to a gunshot murder outside the venue that exact night.

Now, Kiara has revealed what transpired and how it all unfolded, indicating that Tyrek believed she’d left and went home without her.

Once he realized his bride had actually not left, he returned to the venue to get her only to face his untimely death.

‘It was a road rage incident,’ Kiara told Fox 8 while recounting the story.

‘Pretty much a stranger or someone we didn’t know. Felt that he cut him off and confronted him about it, and it ended up terribly wrong.’

The couple reportedly lived together for more than 10 years and wanted to officially get married for their four children, who were present at the wedding.

‘I would have to say our happiest moments was seeing our kids smiling … The wedding was for them. Our plan was to elope … The kids wanted a wedding,’ Kiara said.

The then bride and her groom were seen in heartwarming photos from the night posing at the altar and walking into their reception for their first dance as husband and wife.

Once the wedding vows and celebration ended, Kiara was ambushed at the event’s parking lot and shot in front of his bride and daughter with the killer fleeing the scene, leading to his death.

Cops say Tyrek was shot at least 15 times and although ‘lifesaving efforts were immediately made,’ the bride’s husband unfortunately died that night.

The sister of Tyrek, Brittany Burton, explained how her brother had left the wedding venue because he thought his bride was already headed home and how that misunderstanding ended in his death.

‘Tyrek made a U-turn and I guess didn’t see somebody. Cut them off and that person followed him back to the park,’ Brittany told ABC 7 last year.

Up until now, Tyrek’s killer has still not been identified, and his October bride is speaking, hoping justice can be served in the near future.

‘He was so giving. He was a provider. He was a protector. Great husband. Great friend,’ Kiara said of her late husband.

‘There’s no way this person did something like this and slept on it and didn’t tell nobody. If you know something, say something,’ she added.

Another family member posted a video montage from the wedding night as loved ones celebrated their love, explaining how tough Tyrek’s death has been particularly for the bride who lost her husband.

‘My heart is broken. Y’all please pray for Kiara and the kids, his momma, sister, and other family, their strength, their understanding, their comfort!’

‘It’s so bad when you feel there’s nothing you can do. The only thing I can give them is God and a shoulder to lean on. This is so sad!

‘Kiara asked me, “How do I marry the love of my life and lose him in the same day?” Oh my God, I have no words. This is rough!’ she wrote.
