Solána Imani Rowe, also known as SZA on stage, won the “Best International Artist” category at the Brit Awards, beating out tight competition. She beat out well-known musicians, including Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, Olivia Rodrigo, Kylie Minogue, and Afrobeats legends Burna Boy and Asake.

After she won the award, SZA, who couldn’t be there in person, said, “Thank you Brits so much for this award. Sorry I can’t be there. I’m so grateful for this honor. Thank you for bumping my music.”

“I hear you’re at the O2, which is my favorite. I will always give y’all the best of me and I should be back really soon. Thank you!”, the singer said in a pre-recorded acceptance speech, per HipHopDX

The 34-year-old has been confirmed as the newest headlining act at BST Hyde Park, which will take place in June, according to the Daily Mail.

Recently, SZA’s critically acclaimed album “SOS” earned her seven additional gold and platinum certifications for tracks released on the 2022 album.

Though “I Hate U” and “Snooze” have gone three and four times platinum, respectively, “Open Arms” featuring Travis Scott, “Seek & Destroy,” and “Ghost In The Machine” featuring Phoebe Bridgers have all achieved platinum status for the first time. Most notably, “Good Days” achieved six times platinum status.

At the 2024 Grammy Awards, SZA won three of the nine Grammys for which she was nominated: Best R&B Song for “Snooze,” Best Progressive R&B Album for “SOS”, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Ghost In the Machine” alongside Phoebe Bridgers.
