A former Cameroonian minister Basile Atangana Kouna who was fired early this month after a cabinet reshuffle has been arrested in Nigeria and extradited home following breach of police order.

The former minister of water resources was sacked after a crackdown on high-level corruption and was ordered by the police not to leave the country, Reuters cites local media reports.

Security sources and local media confirmed his arrival on Thursday evening accompanied by security officials.

It is not clear what he is being charged for, but three other officials including a former Ministry of Public Works official, the head of a state company, and the ex-rector of the University of Douala were arrested this week in the anti-corruption crackdown.
