Farida Bedwei, Ghana

She is the co-founder and chief technical officer of Logiciel Limited, a tech company that delivers mobile banking and cash management software. Despite her Cerebral Palsy disease, she has risen to become one of the most successful technologists in Africa. Logiciel currently has the largest microfinance banking software platform in Ghana, powering the operations of over 280 financial institutions in the country.
Its clients include microfinance institutions, savings and loans companies, credit unions, as well as, universal banks in Ghana and Nigeria.

Bedwei has won a number of awards, including the 2012 Special Award by President John Mahama of Ghana, the Maiden Award 2011 of the Legacy and Legacy Ideas Award and the 2013 CEO Most Influential Women in Business and Government Award Financial Sector. In 2016, she was named a 2016 Young Global Leader (YGL) by the World Economic Forum (WEF.)
