In another case of “accidental” racial division, Video game company Electronic Arts (EA) is apologizing for editing Colin Kaepernick’s name from a soundtrack featured in Madden NFL 19.
In the track, Big Bank by YG featuring Big Sean, the latter’s verse, in which he raps, “Feed me to the wolves now I lead the pack and s—. You boys all cap, I’m more Colin Kaepernick. I’m rare as affordable health care,” was edited out.
The song also boasts appearances by Nicki Minaj and 2 Chainz whose verses went unaltered.
“We messed up, and the edit should never have happened,” EA Commented. They continued, “Members of our team misunderstood the fact that while we don’t have rights to include Colin Kaepernick in the game, this doesn’t affect soundtracks. We messed up, and the edit should never have happened. We will make it right, with an update to Madden NFL 19 on August 6 that will include the reference again.”
Oh!!!!! @EAMaddenNFL who told you to edit Colin’s name out???? @nfl ? @NFLPA Curious minds want to know ? Thanks Jean for the info!!! If you guys see more shady stuff send it over. https://t.co/EIBQbaQ5SA

Here’s what Twitterverse has to say about this faux pax:
It’s NOT a screw up when you @EAMaddenNFL did it two consecutive years. You scrubbed @Kaepernick7 ‘s name last year on the song “Bars of Soap” and THIS year on “Big Bank.” DID the @NFL tell you to scrub his name out TWICE? https://t.co/dvpfOF3EOF https://t.co/dwnAsHJ8i1

On the bright side, this actually proves that Kaep has been blackballed from the league, something that folks who work for or represent the league has denied.

Exactly!!! The facts debunk all attempts at misleading or lying by the @NFL or @EAMaddenNFL. Their inability to provide an truthful answer to why they did it is simply because their hand is still in the cookie Jar.

Colin Kaepernick doesn’t belong in the game. He hasn’t played and won’t anytime soon. He’s not a good player. Why is this a problem. This is EA’s intellectual property. The have the right to do what they want. If anyone doesn’t like it, don’t buy the game.

That’s HATE. @Kaepernick7‘s name is so powerful they edited it out of Madden 19. It’s confirmation that wanna-be slave owners are scared of him because Kaepernick’s name represents defiance and rebellion! They don’t want him to be a hero to the youth but it’s too late! #ImWithKap

Looks like it’s time to boycott @eamaddennfl with our wallets. How dare you treat his name as if it’s an expletive simply for exercising his constitutional right of peaceful protest.
