Since being arrested on September 16, Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently on trial in Manhattan federal court for sex trafficking, has reportedly made $4.1 million. According to The Sun, Combs is making millions by renting out his $60 million private jet to wealthy passengers who are unaware he is the owner.
The Sun reports that the aircraft, which has 14 seats and a range of 6,750 miles, is being rented by rental operator Silver Air. Silver Air, which runs the flights, describes itself as having a “comprehensive fleet of luxury aircraft.”
The company is promoting the black-colored plane on celebrity charter broker sites such as Jettly, and rich buyers are unaware that it is owned by the 55-year-old incarcerated Bad Boy Records owner.
According to reports, the Gulfstream plane has been rented at least every other day. Since being listed on rental websites, the G550 has traveled 149,540 miles, which is the equivalent of six trips around the world.
Each journey has averaged 1,186 miles, which is almost the same aerial travel distance between Los Angeles and Dallas. According to the Jettly ad, those who want to rent Combs’ jet for a trip will have to pay $32,597.
Over the past eight months, the jet has made 126 trips, earning Combs around $4.1 million.
According to the outlet, the detained music tycoon offered to sell his Gulfstream plane as part of a $50 million bail arrangement proposed to Judge Arun Subramanian, but it was denied.
Built in 2015, Combs’ 14-seater Gulfstream G550 is registered to LOVEAIR LLC and is based at Los Angeles’ Van Nuys Airport.
Jettly provides pictures of the aircraft parked on the airport tarmac, showcasing its black exterior and premium beige leather seats.
As the Daily Mail reports, Combs previously listed his lavish $61.5 million Los Angeles home while he rushed to raise the money necessary to hire a formidable group of seasoned lawyers.
Diddy’s 10-bedroom, 13-bathroom Beverly Hills property, has now languished on the market for more than 200 days amid his trial.
Combs, who is now on trial at the US District Courthouse in Lower Manhattan, faces a potential life sentence after being accused of orchestrating a decades-long sex trafficking ring.
