A rural community in the Democratic Republic of Congo has made waves on the internet because of how it transports its dead to and from the mortuary.
As per the photos, shared by a Facebook user PK Kasirim, the corpses are shrouded in cloth and secured on boda boda (motorbikes) using straps to keep them from falling over.
The viral images have not only caused fear but heated discussions on the dignity of the dead.
That’s not so good. Everyone including dead people has the right to dignity. Dignified exit is what they should be given. Inna lillah waina illehi rajiun…

Others hypothesized that the transportation of dead bodies could be too expensive for people to handle.
Or maybe decent transportation of dead bodies is so expensive that majority of the struggling people cannot afford it.

For others, it was the perfect opportunity for leaders and insurance companies to review the health situation on the continent and address issues such as this.
I believe the insurance companies/HMOs can create innovative solutions for low income earners to access basic healthcare facilities
But I admit it may involve lots of aid/grants to Kickstart the system— Alhaji (@ituajude) April 11, 2018
