Elon Musk loses title as world’s richest person to college dropout

Elon Musk has lost his crown of “world’s richest person” to Oracle cofounder Larry Ellison. Ellison’s wealth increased by $101 billion as of 10:10 am in New York after Oracle Corp. reported quarterly results that exceeded expectations, Bloomberg noted.

The fortune of Ellison, a college dropout, is now $393 billion, greater than Musk’s $385 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Musk had been the world’s richest for four years running.
