The first-ever Agency Ambassador Programme for Africa has been launched by Facebook as part of efforts to maximize use of the marketing and advertising tools the social media platform has to offer. Delegates from 32 most-recognized media agencies from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa trained for three days in in Johannesburg, South Africa, at the end of March.

“We’re so excited to launch the Facebook Agency Ambassador Program, a first for Africa. As media transcends to digital, it’s of crucial importance that these Ambassadors are equipped to take their learnings back to their agencies – both digital and traditional – so that they can make the most of the digital opportunity, and ultimately grow brands and businesses.” ~ Nunu Ntshingila, Head of Africa for Facebook

The training successfully equipped African participants with the resources they need to boost their businesses through digital marketing, especially in the wake of Facebook establishing its first African office in Johannesburg, South Africa.

So far, Nigeria leads Africa in Facebook subscribers with 16 million visitors coming on the platform every month; South Africa garners 12 million visitors and Kenya comes in third place with 4.5 million.
