The Ruins of Djemila

The township of Djemila was founded during emperor Nerva of Rome’s reign between 96 to 98 AD. The ruins of the township are in northern Algeria and the place was once an extensive Roman City which was occupied until the sixth century. It collapsed during the Arab invasion and was totally abandoned in the 8th century.
