Tyrese Gibson has been in the news for all the wrong reasons this week after defending singer R. Kelly during an interview. R. Kelly has been catching some serious unabated heat and bashing from a section of industry stakeholders, as well as, some people in recent times for his alleged sexual abuse history.

But singer and actor Tyrese seems to be among those who still believe in the multiple Grammy-award winning RnB singer and his talent in spite of his sexual abuse accusations.

Joining Fat Joe for a chat on his The Joprah Show on Instagram TV on Friday, Tyrese highlighted his top five list of singers – Teddy Pendergrass, Brian McKnight, Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, and Kelly.

“I know he’s [Kelly] got a lot of controversy and heat on him. I get it. So, ain’t no need to get in my comments,” Tyrese told fans.

When asked if it was okay to praise the disgraced legendary musician, Tyrese said almost all celebrities have some private lives and interests they wouldn’t want to be made public.

“What I’ve learned over the years, is that there’s a lot of people in our industry…rather music, acting, producing, directing, studio execs, billionaires, real estate, the tech space…everybody is involved in something that they don’t ever want people to know about publicly. And I would say, ‘You know what, just let God do his job.’”

“If I were to find out, what everyone is into, we probably wouldn’t be a fan of anybody. There is some people who do what they do, they know how to keep their s**t completely in the closet.”

Kelly is in prison facing several state and federal charges of sexual abuse in the U.S. and though many people are not happy with Tyrese for defending the RnB singer, watch his interview with Joe and tell us what you think.
