Ester Dean

You might know Dean from the hit movie Pitch Perfect but she started off as a care worker in an elderly home. She eventually followed her calling and got a deal with Christopher “Tricky” Stewart’s publishing company and wrote a hit for Katy Perry in 2010, “Firework”, which reigned on Billboard Hot 100 at number one for 39 weeks.

She has been linked to artistes like Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Rowland, and Trey Songz and her simple but catchy lyrics always do the trick as they are easy to sing along.

She wrote “Super Bass” for Nicki Minaj, “David Guetta’s “Hey Mama” and “Come and Get It” for Selena Gomez.

“I’m universal,” Dean told Billboard of her songwriting. “As much as I can get out a “Firework” with Katy, I can get a “Lil Freak” out with Usher.”
