Sancocho
Sancocho is a meal that celebrates Taino, African and Spanish cultures and can be said to their national meal. Although there are variations of this dish the basic nature is to have the stew made with seven different types of meat and it is usually served with rice, beans and salad. There is no Dominican Republic holiday that is celebrated without Sancocho.
