Jamila Abass, Kenyan – M-Farm CEO & Co-Founder
Jamila Abass is a Kenyan lady with a passion to help farmers boost their profits by commercializing their subsistence farming practices. She has invented a simple app called M-Farm, which links farmers to the available markets while providing them with a platform to share knowledge. With the M-Farm app, farmers are able to learn about different market prices across Kenya.

Apart from sharing information on market prices, M-Farm is the first ever virtual platform for subsistence farmers in Kenya. It has also enabled small-scale farmers to come together and jointly market their produce in larger volumes, thus giving them higher returns. Jamila’s efforts to change farming in Kenya were recognized by US President Barack Obama when he visited Kenya in 2015.
