It can be unsettling for some parents to discover that their ward is gay, especially when they are conservative or religious.
In the case of a Florida man, upon discovering that a teen under his care had gay pornography on his phone, he allegedly had the boy pack and then dropped him off near a police station, assuring him the police will find him a new home.
It took a bystander who observed the proceedings and reported the incident. When asked what the cause of his woes were, the boy said Evenaud Julmeus kicked him out of the house because he thinks he’s gay. He had no food, water, money nor phone on him.
The Haines City Police Department then arrested 30-year-old Julmeus on Sunday and charged him with three counts of negligent child abuse without bodily harm.
It is unclear the exact relationship between Julmeus and the boy who hasn’t attained age 18, but given that the boy’s mother upon being told her son’s fate left her two other children with Julmeus to look for him at the police station showed the boy was likely a stepchild or child of Julmeus.
Perhaps becoming aware that his rush decision could cost him trouble with the police, Julmeus reportedly fled his home before police or the mother could arrive, leaving the other minors without adult supervision. He was ultimately arrested on Sunday, and remained in custody as of Tuesday night.
