Popular streamer Kai Cenat recently took to social media touch on the topic of mental health and the “negative feedback” he received after he initially spoke about his experience with the condition.

Cenat, 24, initially posted a video on X where he talked about mental health and the importance of spreading awareness about it. In the video posted on December 16, Cenat stated that his mental health struggles stemmed from having “self-doubt and fright of pursuing goals” that he aimed to accomplish, Complex reported.

And though Cenat received an outpouring of support from some of his fans, others cast their doubts on his claims. Cenat ultimately returned to X on Tuesday to address the feedback.

“I was honestly gonna save what I gotta say for when I’m ready to come back but right now something is telling me to speak up , Im not sad , I’m not depressed but I need to bring awareness to mental health after some of the feedback I’ve been seeing,” the 24-year-old wrote.

“I know I’ll get clowned more for this,” Cenat stated in another post. “A few days ago I decided to open up a little bit about what I’ve been thinking and it’s been so much love but when I seen the some of the negative feedback I received, I got to see a glimpse of why people don’t speak up about this more often.”

Cenat further explained that though he was “very consistent in streaming,” there were “certain times I realized that I was losing touch of reality.”

“I needed to take a step back and fully reset I started to realize I wasn’t even spending time with close friends and family behind the scenes as much as I wanted to,” he continued.

Cenat further emphasized that he did not care if people perceived him as a “joke” because of his mental health advocacy.

“I cant imagine the things that people are going through on a deeper level so for those people let me speak up a little LOUDER idc if people look at me as a joke,” he wrote

The World Health Organization states that “globally, more than a billion people live with a mental health condition.”
