Huey P. Newton thought that his philosophy of civil rights required exploiting the loopholes in laws that were not written with black people in mind.
Newton was an intellectual much against what people thought of the Black Panther Party he formed with Bobby Searle. He was one who could write down his well-thought arguments as well as carry a gun for them.
In 1989, Newton was shot by Tyrone Robinson, a member of the black separatist group and street gang, Black Guerilla Family.
