Who would have thought killing another human in a cattle-raiding would be of importance to the Hamars? Hamar men go on raids to take food, cattle and other properties from men they have killed. 

The fall of this compatriot gives a Hamar man incredible social status in the community. After he kills to dominate, he returns to the village where he is welcomed as a hero and entitled to scarification.
