The United Nations Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020 compiled information on road accidents.
Zambia has a large influx of foreign vehicles and unfortunately, many of these cars have faulty mechanisms which cause many accidents on the road. This also translates into much time spent on the roads due to car breakdowns.
According to Mediamax Network, the amount of vehicles on the road has grown from 200,000 in 2006 to 500,000 in 2013.
