King Harris, the 19-year-old son of rapper T.I., was arrested in Georgia this week following an encounter with police.
Reports indicate that Harris caught the attention of an officer in Dunwoody when he nearly collided with a police cruiser while exiting a gas station on Monday.
The officer pulled over King Harris in his BMW after noticing the near-collision, as reported by TMZ.
The officer allegedly smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and spotted a gun on Harris’s hip, prompting the officer to instruct him to place his hands on the steering wheel.
Upon checking King Harris’s information, the officer discovered a warrant for his arrest from Pickens County for failure to appear in court.
According to the incident report, Harris cooperated when asked to step out of the vehicle. The officer removed Harris’s firearm without issue and detained him in handcuffs.
After escorting King Harris to his patrol vehicle and conducting a pat-down, the officer placed him in the backseat.
Harris was then taken to DeKalb County Jail, where his mug shot was taken. Two other individuals were in the car with him, and a search of the vehicle allegedly revealed two small baggies of marijuana.
One of Harris’s companions was cited for marijuana possession but not arrested.
T.I. and his reps are yet to comment on the matter.
