Regina King has an acting career that spans more than three decades. She started her acting career in 1985 when she was featured in the NBC sitcom “227”. King left school in order to concentrate on her acting career and was even mentored by Betty Bridges.

She also appeared in other shows, playing a supporting role in John Singleton’s acclaimed 1991 directorial debut “Boyz n the Hood” and Singleton’s next two films: 1993’s “Poetic Justice,” co-starring Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur, and 1995’s “Higher Learning,” according to Celebrity Net Worth.

In 1995, King had a supporting role in the hit buddy stoner comedy “Friday,” Martin Lawrence comedy “A Thin Line Between Love and Hate” and the blockbuster romcom “Jerry Maguire.” King has appeared in almost every genre of movies ranging from comedy to romance and drama to action.

For her three decades in Hollywood, King has accumulated substantial wealth and awards. She has won two Emmy Awards 1 Critic Choice Award, 1 Golden Globe Award nomination, and 1 Screen Actors Guild Award nomination.

The Harder They Fall actress has a net worth of $16 million. While a chunk of her revenue comes from acting, she also owns a restaurant business that brings in additional cash.

Aside from acting, King is also a movie director. She first directed an episode of “Southland” in 2013. She also directed six episodes of the BET drama series “Being Mary Jane” and two episodes of the ABC political thriller “Scandal.”

According to Celebrity Net Worth, King also directed episodes of “The Catch,” “Animal Kingdom,” “Greenleaf,” “Pitch,” “This Is Us,” “Shameless,” “The Good Doctor,” and “Insecure.”

King also made money from commercials. She featured in multiple Cadillac commercials. The Oscar and Emmy-winning actress subsequently became a brand ambassador for Cadillac. Her other commercial credits include Wells Fargo and Vaseline.

King was born to Thomas, an electrician by profession and special education teacher Gloria on January 15, 1971, in Los Angeles. When she was eight years old, her parents divorced. She attended Westchester High School and continued to the University of Southern California.

King married Ian Alexander in 1997. However, they are divorced with a child.
