‘Please pinch me’: Ex-Chick-fil-A worker rebuked for viral TikTok videos now a big brand influencer

Miriam Webb, nicknamed “MiritheSiren,” has become a TikTok sensation after her videos secured her big deals with major companies. The former Chick-fil-A employee told People that she shared her first video while going through “a weird little breakup.” She didn’t think anyone would notice.

Web was “feeling kind of depressed” after losing her job as an executive assistant to a Harvard professor, so she started working at her neighborhood Chick-fil-A in California in April 2023.

After working for a few months at Chick-fil-A, Webb started posting her employee meals to her fans on social media in December 2023. Speaking to her viewers as if they were her friends, she would describe in detail what she was eating for her comped meal while seated in her uniform in the restaurant’s break room.

The number of likes on her videos increased from a few thousand to hundreds of thousands in just one month. As her audience increased, she expanded her content to include menu tricks while sharing her thoughts on new menu items.

Though she didn’t purposefully keep her videos hidden from Chick-fil-A, the high number of views she received on one of her food review videos caught their attention, especially after a news organization contacted them to comment on her success.

Later, the St. Louis native revealed that the company had warned that she couldn’t upload her videos at the restaurant or in uniform. Though she was informed she could record the videos at home while eating in her uniform, Webb believed that would make her recordings less honest.

She expressed, “Those videos were all posted in real time. It’s not that I was against that idea, but that felt like there was an authenticity of me being at work.”

Shortly after, she said in a TikTok video on April 15, 2024, that she would no longer be creating Chick-fil-A content.

A day later, Webb received tons of messages from brands requesting collaborations, but Shake Shack’s message caught her attention the most.

In the same month, Webb quit Chick-fil-A and shared a sponsored video of herself eating Shake Shack, which “skyrocketed.”

She has since released sponsored videos with Zaxby’s and El Pollo Loco, among other restaurants and brands. She even received an invite to a Rihanna event recently, where she got to meet the superstar herself.

Now the 23-year-old concentrates solely on social media. “I kept telling my mom, ‘Please pinch me. Is this actually happening? What’s happening left and right?’” she said last year.

Meanwhile, Webb has said that she has no grudges against Chick-fil-A.

“I’m still very proud of my job at Chick-fil-A.” she stated. “I think my year at Chick-fil-A was a year of PR training. You do a lot of heart-searching at Chick-fil-A because you got to be nice to everybody. Don’t matter if they yell at you, scream at you, whatever it may be, you have to keep your composure. When I see mean comments, I’m like, ‘Could respond or could say, I love you, have a good day.’ And that’s what I do.”

Webb also began hosting a new show, Flavors with Wingstop, which features celebrity guests such as Waka Flocka.

Last year, the brand influencer shared how exciting her 2024 has been. “Never in a million years did I think my journey as an influencer would start because of Chick-fil-A,” she stated.
