Avoid rumination
According to Nolen-Hoeksema, rumination refers to the tendency to repetitively think about the causes, situational factors, and consequences of one’s negative emotional experience. The only thing that can come out of rumination is compounded stress.
Experts advise that when stress-filled thoughts spring up often during any crises, the best thing to do is pause whatever activity you are into at the moment, breathe and refocus your thoughts on all the things that can go right in the given situation.
