After his stepdaughter flaunted her new man on social media, Steve Harvey has finally broken his silence on Lori’s love interest, Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan, on his syndicated radio talk show, ‘The Steve Harvey Morning Show’.
The 64-year-old Family Feud host issued playful warnings as most fathers would and said he had his eyes on Jordan. In the past, Harvey has only ever commented on one of Lori’s flamboyant relationships and that was with Memphis Depay, the Ghanaian-Dutch soccer player.
“I like this one,” Harvey said of the Black Panther star. “I still got my eye on him. I mean I like him, but like I say to all of ’em, ‘I might like you, I might approve of you, but I got a thumb-size section of my heart filled with nothing but pure hatred for your ass. Just in case I need it.'”
There is a thin line between love and hate and Harvey is not taking any chances with his adoptive daughter and declares he can “hate” Jordan if need be for his baby girl.
“Like right now? Nice guy,” the comedian continued. “But I got this little section partner, where all I gotta do is click a switch and I can hate your ass.”
Not even being named People’s 2020 Sexiest Man Alive can do the trick for Jordan. The Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man author mentioned and mocked Jordan’s title while recording his syndicated radio program.
“Cause, you ain’t the sexiest man in the world to me!” he said “Let’s be clear about that.”
Harvey adopted the 24-year-old and her two biological siblings when he married his third wife, Majorie Elaine Harvey in 2007. Sources revealed the Lori and Jordan decided to keep their relationship under wraps and get to know each other in private, unlike her previous relationships which were in the limelight from the onset.
“It seems they have wanted to get to know each other in private,” a source told PEOPLE of the couple’s initial decision to keep their love out of the spotlight. “They have been careful about being photographed together.”
“In the past, she quickly posted social media pictures with guys that she was dating,” says the source. “With Michael, she has tried a different approach.”
Lori was previously engaged to Depay and was rumored to have been romantically linked with musicians Future, Trey Songz, and Diddy.
The couple both posted photos of each other on their Instagram handles on January 10 which confirmed rumors of their relationship. The 33-year-old Black Panther star spent most of the holidays in November and December with Lori.
They were seen celebrating Thanksgiving together in Atlanta, which sparked speculations about their romance and indicates they might be romantically linked for a few months now.
However, it was Jordan putting up Lori on her birthday earlier this month that confirmed the rumors about their relationship for many after Lori wrote, “My baby 💕” in the comments under the post even though the pair had not issued any statement about their status.
