Illinois twin sisters Doris Ward and Loris Pryor recently marked a significant milestone when they celebrated their 100th birthday. “All I can say is that it’s a blessing to be here at 100 years old,” Doris told WXYZ.
“To live this long, I never thought it would happen or not happen. I never thought about it,” Loris added. The pair celebrated reaching a century in their lives with a party surrounded by their family and friends.
“The good Lord blessed us to still… see our family and that was a blessing,” Doris said. The twin sisters, who have children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, also said they’ve been inseparable since their childhood.
“We are always together with everything — everything,” Loris said. “She ain’t go without me … I ain’t go without her. (We were) always together.”
And though the pair continue hanging out together and partake in activities including going to the casino, they said their favorite memory is dancing. “We did a lot of dancing,” Doris recalled.
“Life is very precious, or I wouldn’t be here,” Doris said about reaching the milestone with her twin. “It’s just precious to live this long.”
