Edible insects are irresistible delicacies in many African cultures. A great meat substitute, they are highly affordable and also very rich in protein and other vital nutrients.

According to Author and Business Strategist John-Paul Iwuoha in his LinkedIn article; The Top 4 Most Eaten Insects in Africa; And Why Insect Farming Has Become A Big Business Opportunity, “Edible insects contain between 30 to 70 per cent protein (with many essential amino acids) and the ‘good’ fatty acids. In addition to its high nutritional protein value, most edible insects are a rich source of vitamins and minerals.”

“This makes them a cheaper, more sustainable and viable alternative to all the meat and fish we currently consume.” He added.

If you have plans of laying off meat for something healthier, why not try your hands on these tasty and edible insects eaten in Africa?
