Kenyans were shocked on Wednesday when 10 primary school pupils of the Dhawabu Primary School in Kayole, Nairobi, were arrested after they were caught at around 7 pm engaging in a sex orgy.
The 5 boys and 5 girls in primary 7 and 8 were caught by a man who heard suspicious noise coming from a neighbour’s house where the kids were supposed to be working on their homework.
The neighbour told local news that this was the second night that he had heard such noise coming from his neighbour’s house but was told that the students were dancing after doing their homework. He was later told that the parents were not around and the student in the house had invited his friends over to do their homework.
The shock that gripped Kenyans was not caused by the sex orgy of the kids, but by their arrest and detention from the home in the estate and spending the night at the police station. The police and school authorities say they will investigate the matter.
Many blamed the parents and teachers for not teaching the children proper sex education at home and in schools.
Here are some reactions from Kenyans on Twitter.
What is there to investigate? Just have the parents pick up their kids, sex education and discipline is a parental duty and not a national security service job.

Why are they being held by police? Is there a crime known as “sex orgy” anywhere in our laws? Those kids should be released to their parents or guardians immediately.

When you guys are showing half naked women in Jamaican music videos on tv on a Saturday morning when our kids should be watching quality content then what do u expect? Media houses are to blame.

Shame SHAME SHAME on you @KTNKenya these are CHILDREN what you are doing trying to show their faces is beyond disgusting. 2nd, you should be questioning why they are being detained by police. What crime have they committed? How stupid are adults who try to SHAME children this way

SHAME ON YOU! At 10 children explore sexuality. Your role as adults is to help guide that. SHAME ON YOU if you think you can criminalize human sexuality. And more so children who are clearly in need of guidance

Very foolish from you Kariuki. Many of us were attracted to opposite sex from primary years. We loved feeling even a girl’s hand against us, what they are doing is human but wrong for their age. They need guidance, not canes. Ju hata ww ukichapwa hutaacha dinyana

Did I hear that mother saying she is blaming the teachers ?
Excuse me!! your kids are YOUR responsibility NOT the teachers responsibility to teach them what is right or wrong !!
It’s time this “African parent“ thing where parents are afraid of talking to their kids ends NOW!!

Im sure you know the fact that teachers stay with the kids almost 80% of the day so the teachers shld be able to do 80% of the discipline.

Kenyan parents have failed in their parental duties. Every day morning to afternoon, kids are at school then once they reach highschool they get tossed in boarding for 4 years throwing all the responsibility to raise their children to teachers.

I sure hope the police will teach them on what they are lacking. Morals..oh wait…teach the police the very same morals?♀️ Such a mockery to the system.
