A health and wellness company has filed a lawsuit against Kyrie Irving over allegations that the Dallas Mavericks star failed to settle invoices amounting to $390,710 for services they rendered to him. Per TMZ Sports, the lawsuit against Irving, whose career earnings in the NBA currently stands at over $300 million, was filed in New York on Monday.
Elite Mind Solutions in the lawsuit claims that the 32-year-old contracted them and their therapist, Natasha McCartney, to provide services for a family retreat he was organizing for friends and family between June 28 and July 2, 2024.
The lawsuit claims that Irving said he was expecting around 50 to 60 guests before he increased the number of attendees to nearly 115. Irving is said to have notified the plaintiffs about the increment days before the commencement of the retreat. The suit claims that the number of guests was around 150 when the plaintiffs came to the event.
The company claims that the increase in the number of attendees did not prevent them from doing the therapeutic exercises and sessions they said they were going to do. The plaintiffs also claim that they additionally performed crisis management services and grief counseling after someone at the retreat died, TMZ Sports reported.
The plaintiffs, however, claim Irving did not pay them for their services after they sent him invoices amounting to $390,710. They are accusing Irving of breach of contract and seeking payment of the money Irving allegedly owes them. The plaintiffs also want Irving to pay interest on the money allegedly owed to them and attorney fees.
