NBA star LeBron James will have his jerseys look different from those of his Lakers teammates for the rest of this season.
On Monday, Topps, which is the ultra-popular trading card company, announced that the Los Angeles legend will have some special edition patches pressed onto his uniform tops for the rest of the 2026 NBA campaign.
On his special jersey, the blue, red and yellow emblems will commemorate the 23 seasons James has played in during his illustrious career.
In addition to Cavaliers, Heat and Lakers colors, the logo will also have the words “NBA seasons,” the No. 23 and a silhouette of James throwing chalk in the air.
Topps said fans first noticed the honor on James’ jersey on Monday night, when the Lakers locked horns with the Kings in Sacramento — the city where James first kicked off his Hall of Fame career back in 2003.
“The patches will be removed from his jersey after each game,” Topps said in its announcement of the tribute, “and some will be placed into ultra-rare trading cards.”
LeBron James is the first player to ever take to the court for 23 NBA seasons, and was pumped to receive the recognition, calling it “so dope” on his Instagram page on Monday.
“Need some of these for my own collection!!!” he added.
King James was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 draft and featured in 11 seasons in Cleveland, four in Miami, as well as eight-and-counting in Los Angeles during his time in the Association.
LeBron and the Lakers will tip off their tilt with the Kings at Golden 1 Center.
Over the last decade, one of James’ best accomplishments has been winning the 2020 NBA championship with the Los Angeles Lakers.
