LeBron James played his first game of the season in the Lakers’ 140-126 win over the Utah Jazz on Tuesday after he was sidelined for his team’s first 14 regular season games because of sciatica on his right side.
James, 40, also did not show any sign of rust as he finished the game with 11 points and 12 assists within 30 minutes, Sports Illustrated reported. And though James was pleased with returning to the court, he jokingly made a revelation about his son Bronny, 21, following the game. Bronny, also featured in Tuesday’s game, clocked three points.
When the four-time NBA champion and future Hall of Famer was asked about his son’s second NBA season and his development, James replied that though he felt that Bronny was “enjoying the process,” he had moved out of their family home and they do not communicate as much as before.
“He’s not a resident anymore so we don’t talk as much, he has his own place,” James jokingly said as he looked at Bronny in the locker room. “Bronny how are you!?” he added.

James’ return to the court on Tuesday was also a memorable one for him, as he made history by becoming the first NBA player to play 23 league seasons. He also climbed up to sixth position in the all-time three-pointers list, surpassing Indiana Pacers legend Reggie Miller.
“I think it’s something I will really enjoy once I’m done — to be able to look back and see some of the things I accomplished and the great group of guys I was around, the coaching staff I was around when I was playing the game,” James said.
