Poem: The Tongue of Man

by Adesewa Oyinkansola, 9:31am September 02, 2015,
Mouth

Mouth

The tongue of a man
Slaying deep into the flesh

The tongue of a man
Full of lies and deceit

Says A, meant B, does C….

What he meant not from his heart

The tongue of a man is heinous
To the bones and marrows

The tongue of a man is hazardous
To the heart,piercing and pricking
With its thorn

It brings sorrow and anguish
With its slanderous
taaaaaaatraaaaaaaatraaaaaaa

He dips his soiled hand
Into the heat of meekness
Man, when will your blue
Stop being black?
