Danai Gurira

When Gurira is not defending Wakanda as Okoye in the “Black Panther” film, she is on stage with her plays.

Her Liberian-set Eclipsed premiered on Broadway marking the “first–ever Broadway play to boast an all-female cast and creative team,” in 2016 and was nominated for a Tony Award.

She has other plays such as “Familiar,” “The Convert,” and “In the Continuum.”
