Daniel Oturu
Born to Nigerian parents, Oturu was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the 33rd overall pick in the second round. The 21-year-old was later traded to the New York Knicks, and then to the Los Angeles Clippers.
“This is something myself and my family have dreamed of and worked for a long time,” Oturu told the Star Tribune after his selection. “It’s all by God’s doing. There was a lot of emotion, and I’m very happy.”
