Jada Jerrelle Brown put in the work, and she is reaping the benefits big time. The high school senior has been accepted to a whopping 141 colleges and universities, with her mail carrier still delivering more. All these offers come with a total of $5million scholarship money, the most money offered to any high school student in the United States this year.

The 18-year-old, who just graduated with the class of 2021 at International High School of New Orleans, now has the national distinction of being among the top seniors accepted by most colleges with the most financial offers in scholarships, according to Nola.

“I’m very happy, blessed, thankful. I was a little overwhelmed, but now I’m good,” Brown said.

Brown was an excellent student throughout high school. The straight-A student applied to a total of 155 colleges with the help of her counselor Denise James. During the time of the application, she told WGNO that she was not aware there were more than 141 colleges and universities because most of them were unfamiliar to her.

The Louisiana native’s outstanding achievement caught the eye of Senator Bill Cassidy, and he could not help but praise her on Twitter for making Louisiana proud after paying a visit to her.

“Great to visit the International High School of New Orleans and chat with Jada Jerrelle Brown, who received over 141 college offers. She is a future leader for her community and has made Louisiana proud!” he wrote in the caption above a photo of him fist-bumping Brown.

Brown was spoilt for choice, however, she chose her home state university, Louisiana State University, where she will pursue dentistry.

The young scholar’s story is inspiring to say the least and she leaves a few words of encouragement for everyone who is afraid to follow their dreams.

“Never give up. Never let anybody’s opinions on you dictate your life. So don’t let anyone’s opinions control what you do in life, just do it for yourself. This is your life. Live it and don’t give up,” Brown said.
