WNBA star Angel Reese has made a surprising revelation on a chapter of her life during her college days at LSU, revealing she received love letters from prison inmates seeking more than just a brief romance.
Reese discussed the unexpected attention on her podcast, leaving guest host Coco Jones equally stunned.
Reese first gained major attention as one of the nation’s top college players, famously besting rival Caitlin Clark in last year’s NCAA Championship, where she pointed to her ring finger in Clark’s face, as reported by Daily Mail.
Since that memorable moment 20 months ago, Chicago Sky superstar Reese’s fame has only grown. Her reach appeared to extend even into the penitentiary system.
“When I was in college, somehow, some way, these men in jail used to send love letters,” Reese said. “Somehow one of them got my mom’s address and my mom had to do all that and call the police and all that.”
“I swear, he was talking about, ‘When I get out, I’m coming for you, imma be with you. We’re going to have kids.’ Sir, take a timeout.”
“Add a year for scary behavior, nasty work,” Jones replied.
Despite being only one season into her WNBA career, Reese has quickly become one of the league’s biggest stars and a key player for the Chicago Sky.
After her rookie season was cut short by a wrist injury, Reese is set to return to the court in the new Unrivaled 3-on-3 women’s basketball league.
While her rival Clark won’t be participating, Reese will join Team Rose BC alongside teammates including Kahleah Copper.
