Former U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama is preparing to go on tour to promote her new book but before all that carried out one duty many people would think odd: she officiated a wedding in Chicago.

Stephanie Rivkin and Joel Sircus have been described as the lucky couple who got the former First Lady to serve as a pastor during their ceremony on Saturday.

The father of the bride is the deputy mayor of Chicago, TMZ reports.

In a video obtained by TMZ, Michelle can be seen with the couple feeding them vows like, “I promise to stand next to and support you, through all of life’s trials and triumphs.”

Michelle is expected to hit 10 U.S. cities this fall for her stadium tour to launch the sale of her memoir, “Becoming.”

The memoir, according to wmagazine.com, “chronicles the story of how she grew up in a brick bungalow on the South Side of Chicago with her parents Fraser and Marian Robinson, attended Princeton University as a first-generation college student, graduated from Harvard Law, met and married Barack Obama, and became the inspirational icon that many look up to today.”

Michelle shared the tour list via Twitter on Sept. 20, writing, “Truly humbled by the response to my upcoming book tour. I can’t wait to share BECOMING with all of you & hope to see you somewhere along the way!”

Here’s how people are reacting to the former first lady’s latest move:
