Arab Spring – December 2010

The Arab Spring was a defining factor in the political space in Northern Africa. The conflict saw a series of anti-government protests, uprising and armed rebellion that spread across the Islamic world.

What began on social media in response to oppressive regimes and low standard of living saw the fall of six leaders, four of which came from Africa.

180, 000 people were killed and six million displaced at the end of the conflict.
