Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, and 21 Savage will be playable characters in Activision’s Modern Warfare II and Call of Duty: Warzone to celebrate Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary. Snoop will be available first in the Season 5 update on August 2, 2023, followed by Nicki’s character during the season.

Nicki’s partnership began in 2022 with a commercial, and she will be the first self-named female Operator in Call of Duty history. She will have exclusive customizations available in her Store Bundle. Snoop has been involved with Call of Duty for nearly a decade, previously narrating and being a playable operator in previous games.

In official images posted online, Nicki is holding a pink assault rifle with her pink characteristic hair. Snoop is also seen flaunting a blue assault rifle with gold marijuana trees, displaying his cobalt blue weapon, Vibe reported.

21 Savage’s appearance and aesthetic in the game remain undisclosed until the “mid-season” of Season 5. To commemorate Hip-Hop’s 50th, the game will offer free War Track Packs, granting players tracks from different decades as they log in between August 7 and August 16. Additionally, a special Weapon Blueprint will be available on the fourth day of logging in.

The War Track Packs feature debuted in 2019 and has featured songs from various artists, such as Run-DMC, Jack Harlow, Ruff Ryders, The Clipse, and Salt-N-Pepa. The game has incorporated songs from all over Hip-Hop’s history, celebrating the genre’s rich culture.

The video game franchise is known for collaborating with high-profile artists for its games. In 2009, Ice Cube did a voice-over for one of the characters named Joseph Bowman. 50 Cent also featured as a faceless U.S. faceless navy seal in 2010’s Call of Duty: Black Ops.
